About Us
Loss & Grief located at the Kapiti Old Mill Centre
The loss and Grief Centre was born out of the vision of Andrew Malcolm of Kapiti Coast Funeral Home who saw a need for those who had experienced loss through the death of a loved one. Originally, he had the funeral home bereavement support service which was a
free follow up service for the funeral home clients but soon found that the wider community were beginning to call for support.
The loss and grief centre is a fully registered charitable trust which is also GST registered
The Old Mill building was purchased and redesigned into an event function lounge and the loss and grief centre it is today.
The venue hosts counselling rooms and a function lounge which hosts support groups, morning teas and community seminars as well as seminars for professional development.
The centre is kept open on generous funding donations from the community and wider funding sources. It is also kept open with a small but dedicated team of volunteers who lovingly and generously give of their time to support those who make contact with the
Centre. We are always on the lookout for more volunteers who would like to help support through helping with running morning teas, visiting people.
The team at the loss and grief centre look forward to being able to meet you and support you in some small way with your grief for your loved one, loss of health, a job, a relationship or importantly a furry friend or if you just need a chat
